The Guide has a slender blade and is made from a 3 ply laminated black cherry. Cherry offers strength and durability and is especially preferred for its resistance to rot and warping. Cherry is also lightweight. All basic strokes such as the ‘J’ and ‘C’ strokes, along with draw, pry and feather strokes evolved from this type of paddle.
